Maintenance of Artificial Clay and Turf Surfaces
The drag mat may be the most important maintenance equipment for artificial clay courts. Smoothing out the court surface after each match should be a standard procedure for all players. Drag mats are available to suit every budget. From economical hard wood with single layer nets of 115cm width to aluminum with extra heavy double layer nets in 150cm width.
A drag broom should be used once at the end of the day or every other day to move infill back into the base line area and other areas of more frequent wear.
